This project is innovative because it's an all-in-one app that uses data to identify, monitor and pay for college tuition, fees and expenses to help students and families make smart financial decisions. This project aims to create better informed students that are truly educated on the process of financing their education and are aware of all the tools to do so.
Students will also be able to monitor their student loan debt while they’re in school so they can make more informed decisions before graduation. This project focuses on helping future students identify the best pathway to higher education through simulations based on quantitative data to identify, monitor and pay for tuition, fees and expenses. You’re not able to build a financial aid plan, apply for scholarships or compare to other schools, but the format is usable and something to build off of for a debt tracker on this application. You tell the app how much you want to budget toward paying off your debt and they tell you how. This app had some great features with debt tracking, but doesn’t cover any of the steps before acquiring the loan debt. This app determines the optimum payment plan and how long it will take until you will be debt free. This app gives you a step-by-step tracker for paying off your loans. This is one that will be referenced on our app as a starting point. This app does offer a lot of great information but is one of many scholarship sites. This site and app allow you to conduct a personalized scholarship matching search, receive FAFSA and financial aid help, look for part-time jobs, and compare schools based on your budget. This is a great app to compare costs and will be used to modify and create an interactive tool that allows students to load different information to track student loan debt.įastweb College Scholarships (Website and App) This site and app allows you to compare award letters from other schools, share information with those that are helping you with your college search and compare costs between different schools. They will also have the ability to complete the FAFSA if they have not thus far.
This site will be linked in the process of students creating their own financial plan. On this app, you’re able to complete the FAFSA, you can view your Master Promissory Notes for your student loans and view your aid summary for your federal aid. This is Department of Education’s mobile app that offers assistance managing federal aid. I want to help bridge that gap.įor this application, federal sites and commonly used financial aid websites were referenced and will be modified in the future. There’s a lack of transparency with financial decisions students make and how these decisions will impact their future. I’ve been in the financial aid industry for over 15 years and have personally seen what students and families struggle with. This project was inspired by my love of financial aid. This project involves the technical fields of Business Technology, Cyber Security, AI and Advancing Computer Science.
